Studio Clear Out Sale

8″x8″ watercolor on paper

2013 is quickly drawing to an end..I felt it  with the very crisp Fall air blasting us on my morning walk with the pups. I regretted forgetting my mittens! Flakes will be flying soon and we will be celebrating the holidays before you know it.
This time of year makes me want to organize and regroup in anticipation for next year. My goal is to tidy up my studio and get to work soon on some new paintings. I have a handful of matted watercolors in my studio that have for whatever reason haven’t found a home but are just too nice to keep here and too nice to send to the circular file.
Many artists do not like to put their work on sale in fear that it will diminish value of their works on a whole. Maybe, maybe not, but I haven’t found it to be so and  it would be a shame to not offer these original watercolors  up before retiring them from my inventory completely.
So, I have added a dozen or so original watercolor works on paper to my online gallery at a greatly reduced price. Perhaps you have had your eye on one of these works and it was a bit over your art budget or you see something tuck away to gift to a friend would like to have on their wall…take a look and here is a chance to get an original work at an incredible price.
I will be offering them at this reduced price for a limited time. Thanks for looking!

2013 Labrador Retriever Calendar featuring 13 new Molly Poole watercolors is here!

The 2013 Labrador Retriever Calendar is here! I am so pleased with the final calendar. These a printed on heavyweight gloss stock and are really substantial and the color quality is stunning. Click here to shop calendar and preview calendar images. If you prefer to order and make payment by personal check, feel free to email/contact me with your order.
This is the third year creating this calendar and each year it has been a success, growing in popularity each year. In the past, I relied on artwork I already had in my archives, so it was a pretty easy project to translate into a calendar. This year, I decided to put a new spin on things and invite participation. It made the project new and exciting for me, but it also made it a huge commitment for the bulk of 2012.
It has been an exciting challenge and one that forced me to commit to a long term project…one I wasn’t sure if I was capable of because of fear and short attention span.
Well, I did it!!!
I cannot thank each and everyone enough for your participation, enthusiasm and taking the time to submit and follow along. Without your help and support, this calendar wasn’t going to happen again this year.
All of the submissions were fantastic, I just can’t get enough at looking at everyone’s Labs and seeing how loved they are. I wish I could paint and include each and everyone of them. There is certainly enough material for many more paintings!

I wish every Lab and every dog, horse, cat, bunny had a loving home like our spoiled pets. Sadly, we all know how many animals are unwanted or not taken care of properly.
Which brings me to remind everyone that this calendar is a fundraiser calendar in which a portion of the proceeds (30%) will go directly to Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue. This is the second year that I will be donating to this wonderful non-profit, all volunteer rescue group that has been rescueing, rehoming and rehabbing Labrador Retrievers since 1998. I want to thank SCLRR and Lori Miller for their enthusiasm for doing this calendar again.

Together, I believe we can double my calendar sales this year and help even more Labs find forever homes!

I have placed a small initial calendar order this week and they are now available for pre-order purchase through my website. I expect to start shipping at the beginning of September. I will continue to re-order as they sell out.

The good news is that I was able to keep the calendar under $20 again this year, with a just a small increase in shipping costs. Shipping is a flat $7.95 whether you order one or a dozen!

They make fabulous holiday gifts, especially if you participate in under $20 gift exchanges with friends, family and co-workers! By purchasing a calendar or two, you can feel really awesome that not only are you helping a terrific rescue organization, you are supporting the creative arts by supporting a working artist.

Lucy, a dog’s life in watercolors

This morning while sipping my coffee and gazing at Lucy under my studio table, I got thinking about all the paintings Lucy has inspired over the years. I sat down at my computer to find out just how many. Wow, over 2 dozen and counting…a few are missing from the above collage.  And since she continues to inspire me everyday, there are more on the horizon. My vanilla gorilla, my dumb bunny, … Lucy is my shining star!
