Beach Boys Series, a Father’s Day Gift

Beach Boys Series“Beach Boys” small works.
As you probably know, I mostly paint dogs, sometimes a cat or a horse or a few cows. Occasionally, a person joins the scene. A horse with an owner, a child hugging their favorite dog pal. So when presented with an opportunity to paint a series of 3 adorable brothers playing at the beach, I was excited to take on the challenge and take a bit of a step outside my comfort zone.
These small 6×6 acrylic  works are being gifted  for the boys father for Father’s Day.
I am so glad to be part of this project to present such a unique and special gift to a very special Dad today.

Watercolor “Three Alpacas” on the cover of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association

I am just thrilled to have my watercolor “Three Alpacas” be the cover art for current June 15th edition of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
You can view the cover art for the current edition and the past issues of JAVMA here.
Although, I have yet to see a hard copy of the journal, a fellow artist friend who also happens to be a veterinarian emailed me to tell me it looks terrific! Can’t wait to see it It an honor to be on the cover of such an important journal, and with a circulation of over 81,000, the thought of all the new eyes taking a look at my artwork for the first time…is pretty cool.

East Colony Fine Art Gallery will be hosting it’s Annual Open House this Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10-5.
Enjoy light refreshments while shopping a selection of original 6″x6″ artworks offered by the artists for $75.00 each.
Be sure and arrive early to grab up these fantastic little pieces. I have my eye on a few…they are going to get snapped up quickly! Still life, collage, watercolor, oil, landscapes…there is a 6×6 for every taste and interest.. (psst…hey, Carrie…there are a couple of really awesome chicken paintings by Pat LaBreque!)

My two 6″x6″ paintings “Double Stuff” and “Follow Follow” will be available as part of the 6″x6″ art sale at East Colony. I am hoping to have a few more available if time allows this week.
