painting of yellow labrador retriever

I am a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA Illustration). My art career has spanned a variety of creative positions in the fields of visual merchandising and graphic design. Over the years, I rarely made time to paint.   Occasionally, I would paint a landscape or create a greeting card for the holidays, but for the most part my art supplies collected a lot dust. Four years ago, we brought home our first dog.   Lucy is a loveable yet headstrong yellow Labrador Retriever.  With the addition of our new four-legged friend, I gained a renewed interest in getting out my paper, brushes and watercolors. Lucy’s expressions, her antics, the way her coat changed color in different light…I wanted to capture it all on paper. I had a subject that inspired me!

I now often paint Lucy and the newest member of our family Cricket.  Cricket is a devilish Cairn Terrier that keeps big sister Lucy, as well the rest of the household, on their toes. In addition to my two favorite pups, I enjoy capturing the expressions and spirit of my client’s pets and children in watercolor.  Please visit my Gallery to see my work.

I live in New Boston, New Hampshire (The Granite State) with my SU Jim and our two dogs Lucy and Cricket.

The dining room table was no longer suitable for work on my larger projects, so I created a "studio" space adjacent to the kitchen.
As you can see, Lucy is my trusted and loyal assistant. She keeps me company while I work and lets me know when the UPS man arrives with more art supplies!
